All Levels Flow Class
Join Jamie Elmer E-RYT500 for an all levels Vinyasa Flow class and get to know this senior teacher. In preparation for Jamie’s upcoming workshops and trainings, students will have an opportunity to experience her method of teaching safe, healthy, and invigorating yoga focused on alignment, joint health, and breathing.
Time: Friday, 5:30-7pm
Deepening your practice could mean many things to many people. In this workshop class, deepening your practice does not mean that you will push hard to the point of discomfort or injury. It does not mean that you’ll tie yourself in a pretzel shape - sometimes mistaken for a yoga pose. Instead, in Gettin’ Deep, you’ll learn more about how your body actually works and moves, so that you can achieve a balanced, strong and lengthened pose appropriate for you as an individual.
Each Gettin’ Deep class focuses on several joint and muscle actions, while working towards a peak pose. Whether you’ve been practicing for six months or sixty years, there is a place in this practice for you.
In Gettin’ Deep Class 3, we’ll be focusing on a peak pose that opens the front of the chest, strengthens the spine and is energizing.
Time: Saturday, 11-1pm
In Gettin’ Deep Class 4, we’ll be focusing on a peak pose that stretches the back body, strengthens the front body and is calming for the brain.
Time: Sunday, 11-1pm
It is not necessary to have attended any Gettin’ Deep class in the past to attend Parts 3 and 4. These practices do not need to be taken in order.
SEEING BODIES Part 3 and 4 - for teachers and teachers in training
Would you like to deepen your understanding of safe alignment and learn effective verbal cues?
As teachers we need to teach by choosing poses, sequences and verbal cues based on what we see the class or students need. First, we need to practice SEEING BODIES and learning what safe and helpful alignment is for each pose. Then, from what we see, we need specific verbal cues to help students to achieve the optimal pose for them as individuals.
In SEEING BODIES Part 3, we’ll focus on back bends with shoulder extension: Bridge, camel and upward facing bow
Time: Saturday, 2-5pm
In SEEING BODIES Part 4, we’ll focus on forward bends: Standing forward fold, half way position, downward facing dog, wide legged forward fold and head to foot pose
Time: Sunday, 2-5pm
You do not need to have attended a SEEING BODIES workshop in the past to attend parts 3 and 4. These workshops do not need to be taken in order
