Congratulations! Your summer garden started as a beautiful bounty full of your favorite vegetables. Alas, now you have had your fill, and you are starting to get sick of these gems. Heck, you even tried your hand at pickling.

Where does trash-to-treasure fit in? Well, if you’re getting sick of those wonderful vegetables, chances are you’re giving them to neighbors or they’re starting to waste away on your counter.

The way to make these wonderful products a treasure again is to expand your scope and look into your creative side. The simplest way to change perspective is to use a different cooking technique, and rejuvenate your love. Mash them, roast them... just try something different. How about grilling, oven-frying, broiling, or even consider making a relish or salsa?

Overrun with okra? Grilled okra is delicious. Try pickled okra chutney for those grilled pork chops, smoked okra salsa for curried fish. Tomato and okra stuffing… Mash it up!
