Ever dreamed of becoming a chef? Or would you just like to up your dinner game? Upstate residents looking to pursue a career in the foodservice industry or hone their culinary skills have an outstanding resource in Greenville Technical College’s Culinary Institute of the Carolinas. With state-of-the-art facilities, a fantastic instructor in Chef Patrick Wagner, and a core curriculum that follows the standards of the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC), aspiring chefs will have all the tools they need to pursue a successful career in the kitchen.

It may surprise you that—for a limited time—you do not have to be enrolled at the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas to benefit from the school’s programs. Restaurant workers and everyday food enthusiasts alike are invited to take place in a new program where they can hone their skills through a series of classes under the tutelage of Chef Wagner himself. The Professional Development Series will offer hands-on education to all while covering a variety of topics that will help further both personal and professional growth.

The series consists of five modules and participants can sign up for all of them or just the classes that best fit their needs. The first module is The Fundamentals of the Knife, followed by Gastronomic Techniques & Skills,Vibrant Vegetable Cookery, Special Dietary Cookery, and Think Like a Chef. Classes are held every Monday from 1:30 until 8, beginning June 12.
